Submissions are now closed for the UAE Teen Sports & Fitness Awards 2018, with a record number of entries.
The Awards are under the Patronage of Dr Abdulla Al Karam, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), the 2018 UAE Teen Sports & Fitness Awards will take place Friday 27th April at Arabian Ranches Golf Club, Dubai.
Ruth Dickinson, Event Director said ‘This year’s awards have attracted a record number of submissions, nearly 100% up on 2016 and 50% up on 2017. “We’ve had an astounding response from individual athletes across the Emirates and across a wide range of sports and fitness activities and the judges were amazed at the number and quality of individual submissions”.
There were a total of 686 entries, as follows:

The first round of judging took place Sunday, led by Chairperson of the Judging Panel, Apollo Perelini, High-Performance Manager at UAE Rugby. The panel included leading personalities from the world of sports & fitness, all experts in their field.
Ruth added, ‘The Awards are the premier awards scheme dedicated to youth in the region and the event is going from strength to strength. Supported by the leading education and sports authorities, they have captured the imagination of teens, teen influencers and mentors. In particular, we’ve seen a massive increase in interest and entries from individual teen athletes across the widest variety of sports and fitness activities’.
Danil Bornventure Managing Director FittGROUP ME, the organizers said ‘A UAE Teen Sports & Fitness Award is a recognition of the sporting and fitness excellence of youth athletes as well as the whole community associated with youth sports. This year there are even more categories to enter across all sports categories, including categories for youth athletes of determination who are excelling nationally and internationally.’
Finalists have been listed on the website and the winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony.
The Awards celebrate the sporting and fitness achievements of youth in the UAE and also recognize those who have helped others to achieve, including teachers, coaches and managers.
They award youth athletes, schools, colleges, clubs, academies, sports federations, sponsors, event organizers and facilities.
